Rocky Mountain Home Inspections Ltd. (“we”, “us”) runs this website at rm-homeinspections.ca. This page explains what personal information we collect through the site and when you book an inspection, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
- Booking details you enter in the online scheduler: your name, email, phone number, the property address and details about the property and inspection.
- Messages you send us by email, phone, text or the chat window on this site.
- Usage information collected automatically when you browse, such as pages viewed, device and browser type and approximate location, through analytics and advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To schedule, carry out and report on your inspection, and to send you your report and invoice.
- To answer your questions and follow up on your inspection.
- To understand how the website is used and to measure our advertising, so we can improve both.
- To meet our legal, licensing and insurance obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to provide our service: with the inspection and scheduling software we use (HIVE), with people you ask us to share your report with, such as your real estate agent, and with service providers that host this site or provide analytics, chat and advertising tools. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies from Google (Analytics and Ads) and from our chat provider. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features such as chat may not.
How long we keep it
We keep inspection records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet our legal and insurance requirements, then delete or anonymize them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to non-essential uses such as marketing. Email us at hello@rm-hi.ca and we will respond within the time allowed by law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no website or email system is completely secure.
Changes and contact
