Home Inspections in Banff

The town of Banff sits inside Banff National Park, a short drive up the valley from Kyle's Canmore base. Its housing ranges from older wood-frame homes to condos and newer builds, and each one is inspected with the same care whether it is a starter condo or a family home.

01

Older homes and long winters

Banff has older homes alongside newer ones, and long, cold winters are hard on roofs, windows, heating systems and wood-burning appliances. Kyle looks for aging components, past water damage and the signs of repairs made over the years, so you know what to plan for.

02

Condominiums and shared buildings

Much of what changes hands in Banff is in multi-unit buildings. A condo inspection covers the unit's own systems and finishes, and notes the visible condition of shared elements such as balconies, windows and common areas that affect the unit.

03

Wood-burning and WETT

Wood stoves and fireplaces are common in Banff homes. Kyle has been WETT-certified at the SITE Basic level since 2021, so a WETT inspection can be added when your insurer asks for one.

04

Radon screening

Radon screening is available in the Banff area. It gives you an early reading, and Health Canada recommends following up with a long-term test of at least 91 days before deciding on mitigation.
